Pay Rate: $115000 Per Year

Position Purpose:

As part of the VNA Performance Team’s mission of driving efficiency and growth initiatives across all our business units and corporate functions, the Senior Analyst Performance will work under the general direction of a Manager and/or Director on a wide range of operational and technical issues across municipal and industrial water utility operations, hazardous waste management, building energy services, business support functions and more.

Over the course of a project, a Senior Analyst Performance gathers and analyzes information, formulates, and tests hypotheses, and develops and communicates recommendations. He/She will also present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members. In this particular position, the Senior Analyst Performance will be also responsible for data discovery, data consolidation, data visualization and reports, and for building analytical models. Senior Analysts receive mentoring from all levels of the organization and have many opportunities to learn broader business and consulting skills such as large-scale program management, change management, and performance transformation.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

The following are specific responsibilities for the role:

  • Data Management and Visualization
    • Analyze complex datasets, identify trends / patterns / correlations, and turn raw data into meaningful and actionable insights to support business objectives and decision-making.
    • Design, develop, and maintain dynamic business intelligence (BI) dashboards and reports using tools such as Google Looker and Power BI to present data in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner for various stakeholders.
    • Develop, implement and maintain data transformation processes to consolidate data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and completeness across BI systems.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across business units and support functions to understand their data needs and requirements and provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support their objectives.
  • Project Delivery Support
    • Identify major areas of opportunities using operational excellence / continuous improvement tools / techniques.
    • Synthesize clear takeaways from a variety of sources to drive meaningful insights and make actionable recommendations to solve complex problems.
    • Structure and develop sections or chapters of client documents with a clear storyline adapted to the audience (e.g. C-level or frontline staff).
    • Deliver prepared oral presentations.
    • Implement and monitor recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

Qualifications



Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering or Computer / Data Science.
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement.
  • 3+ years of professional experience after completing undergraduate degree.
  • Strong understanding of business intelligence concepts, advanced data analysis techniques, data warehousing, integration, transformation, orchestration processes, and data visualization principles.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, with a focus on machine learning and advanced analytics (e.g. SQL, R, Python).
  • Mastering various BI tools; Power BI and Looker Studio considered essential.

  • Strong PC skills are essential with high proficiency in MS Office Suite/Google Suite.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma related certification (e.g. Yellow Belt) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular office work environment.
  • Ability to travel ~30% is required.
  • Preferred location: New York City (with hybrid work option).
